Around the Spot

Alternate Names
Flower Petals

Only the dice with a spot in the middle (1, 3, 5) score points, but you'll need to roll the other numbers as well in order to score big.

Game Summary
Object of the Game:

To have the highest score after four rounds of play.

Equipment:

Three 6-sided dice

Paper and pencil for keeping score

A dice cup (optional)

Number of Players:
2 or more
Order of Play:

Clockwise

How to Play:

The game is played over four rounds. Each player in turn rolls all the dice three times. A player scores points for each 1, 3 or 5 that is rolled (see Scoring below). Rolling a set of three 2's, 4's or 6's in a single roll doubles the players score for the turn and that roll does not count as one of the three rolls the player is allowed. However, the player's score is no longer doubled if they roll a second set of three 2's, 4's or 6's in the same turn.

Once a player has rolled the dice three times they pass the dice to the next player on their left.

Scoring:

1 = 1 point

3 = 3 points

5 = 4 points

2,2,2 or 4,4,4 or 6,6,6 = Player's score doubled for the turn (Second throw of triples cancels doubling)

Winning:

The game ends when every player has taken four turns. Add up the scores. The player with the highest score is the winner.
